It is human nature to seek answers and explanations for the events around us. And although it is a unique human ability to ask questions about the occurrence of phenomena, the human brain still cannot avoid falling for shallow and wrong answers.

Since the start of COVID-19, many assumptions and rumors about a conspiracy were circulated online. And many people fall for the claim that COVID-19 is a lab product, an engineered , man-made bio-weapon.

Fortunately, science has its valid methods to find answers, which is objectively free  from personal preference, selective bias, affirmative bias and wishful thinking.

In a study published in the journal Nature Medicine, Kristian Andersen, Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, CA; Robert Garry, Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans; and their colleagues have proven that COVID-19 evolved naturally and it is not the product of purposeful manipulation in a lab.

The study proves that the virus underwent evolutionary adaptations by natural selection to its spike proteins that give the virus more affinity to bind to a specific protein receptor on human cells call ACE2.

And by targeting this receptor to block virus attachment researchers may be able to find a treatment for covid-19
