You can do a lot of practices to elevate your wellbeing and boost up your mood. Following are some easy practices:

Move Your Body

Moving the body and making some activity when one is stressed can reduce stress and bring relaxation. You can turn on your favorite song and dance in your room, go for swimming, go for a brisk walk, or run a few minutes. Try to focus on the moment while doing theses activities.

Sleep

People could have it difficult to go to bed early when they have a lot to do. But they must. Body and brain require enough sleep to stay healthy. Enough sleep is essential for brain re-energizing, and for body functions maintenance and restoring. It is also essential for the immune system, cellular repair and healing and many other functions. You must get 7-8 hours of sleep each night.

Choose Happy Friends

Emotions are contagious and one can catch them as he catches a cold. So make sure to surround yourself with the right people; people who are cheerful and have a positive look to life. Happiness is an emotion that is easily absorbed. You also can pass it to the people around you .

Express Gratitude

Practice gratitude. Stop and list things you are grateful for. Learn some gratitude exercise like gratitude letter and the good 3 things. This helps you learn that there is always good in the world even when things look hard. It also helps distract you from overthinking disturbing things. Try this simple exercise : think of someone who has helped you in big or small way then write down a thank-you note to him. Send it or not, it will boost your mood, even a little.

Journaling

Putting thoughts in written on paper makes them easier to handle and easier to grasp correctly. Writing helps correct the wrong notions. Keeping a journal gives you an opportunity to scrutinize your concerns and see which one of them is a big deal  and which is not. It also facilitates problem solving and helps breaking down big tasks into small chunks east to manage. Writing can help you reduce the habit of negative self-talk. You can either use a pen and a paper or type in your phone or with your laptop. Keep in mind that your journal is only yours so let off whatever emotions or feelings you have.

Be In Nature

Going outside can make you feel balanced and can calm down your nerves. Research show that spending time in nature can also reduce pain, improve attention, and help people connect better. If you don’t have time, sit next to a window or watch nature pictures, or buy a home plant.

Get Rid of Negative Friendships

Being near toxic people can affect you negatively decreasing your self-confidence and draining your energy out. Spending time with such people can bring you the feelings of frustration and hopelessness. If you think you have a friend of this type then maybe it is time reconsider it now. True friends are needed for healthy life, they are those who provide support and comfort and brings the feelings of happiness. But toxic friendships are better avoided.

Discover Your Flow

What meant by flow is getting so absorbed that one loses track of time. What activity you are doing doesn’t matter as long as you get absorbed. You may e writing, gardening, working on your car or practicing some hobby. The point is spending time on things that take your full attention.  This happens when you do things that you love and that take your full interest. Doing so you won’t have worries, you are confident, and you get a meaning for life

Frequently Unplug

Try to make your priority connecting to your loved ones in person and not through screen. Human connection makes your mood better and improves your concentration. You have to do what it takes to put your laptop and phone away, but with practice you will be able to do it. Do so particularly when you are with friends and family

Giving

Acts of giving and kindness elevate mood and bring satisfaction and wellbeing. Things like walking dogs in a local shelter or bringing a meal to a needy person make you feel better and link you to the world. When you donate energy, time or money you feel better. Helping others boosts up self-esteem and happiness. Volunteering makes you happier.

Have a Trip

The best thing for your wellbeing when you have your days off work is to make trip out of town. It doesn’t need to be somewhere far way, but it needs to be relaxing. If you don’t have time to travel now just make the plan. Mere planning can boost your mood according to research. Look forward for something like a beach to visit or a movie to watch

Have a Massage

Massage does not only ease muscle sore and pain but it also helps when your mood is down or anxious. It also can reduce heart rate and blood pressure.

Declutter

Get rid of clutter in your home. If your home is so filled with unnecessary stuff it will be stressing you out. Clutter makes us feel unhappy with our places and makes us feel bad about ourselves. It can disturb the sleep and impede smooth movement. Get rid of it little by little. Donate or give for recycling the things you no longer want

Spiritual Practices

Spiritual people fare better regarding sadness and worry. Although spiritual life means prayers and worships for some people but for other people it has nothing to do with religion. It could be a morning meditation as well as a morning prayer. Either way, it will hep reducing stress and boosting mood up.

Seek Professional Help

When you feel overwhelmed and your functioning is affected don’t hesitate to seek help and don’t pretend that everything is all right. Talk to your counselor or join a support group.
